Hokkaido is blessed with more superb produce from sea and land than any other part of Japan. Treasuring these blessings, we have been immersed in the production of soybean products such as miso (paste) and shoyu (sauce) to enrich the local dining experience.
In 2021, Fukuyama Jozo will celebrate its 130th anniversary. Since its establishment, we have weathered economic and social changes countless times. However, throughout these upheavals, we have continued to deliver Hokkaido-made delicious products to the tables of our customers in reliance on our tradition and original manufacturing technology. We have successfully established a firm relationship of trust with customers by providing safe and tasty products.We trust that is the key for our existence.

A great supporting player at the dining table, beloved by everyone The Tomoe mark has been used as the symbol of Fukuyama Jozo since the company’s establishment in 1891. The mark, representing “universality“, is also used as the brand name, which is infused with the resolution to invariably pursue palatability as a soy brewer in Hokkaido based on inherited traditional skills and tastes.
We offer soybean products, such as soy sauce, miso and other processed merchandise that help to accentuate the flavor of ingredients. This can be realized only by a brewer with a long history. Fitness of body and taste Taking the opportunity of the 130th anniversary of Fukuyama Jozo in 2021, Yamato Fukuyama Shoten, the initial trading name of the company, will make a comeback as a new brand, envisioning further development and bright future.
This comeback encompasses our determination and intention to pass down the following two factors to our successors: the discerning eye of our forefathers who handled local products from various parts of Japan as wholesalers in ports, as well as an strong determination to take on new challenges of settling in the northern island as pioneers to launch a new business.
With the concept of offering tastes instrumental in keeping physicalfit, we trust that all members of our staff contribute to providing customers with satisfactory merchandise leveraging superb Hokkaido-made ingredients.

Soy sauce for Hokkaido citizens: Hokkaido Soybeans

Specially selected soybeans and wheat grown in Hokkaido are carefully matured into soy sauce with a mellow rich flavor. This soy sauce perfectly matches any type of cuisine, Japanese, Western or Chinese.

Soy sauce for Hokkaido citizens: Hidaka Kelp

This kelp soy sauce is made by combining well-aged soy sauce with Hidaka kelp broth extracted using our original caldron boiling method, which complements the original flavor of soy sauce. This soy sauce, brewed by leveraging the natural flavor of Hokkaido ingredients, helps to taste your usual dishes even better. The salt content of this type is 30% lower than that of regular soy sauce. No chemical condiments are added.

Miso for Hokkaido citizens: White Paste

This product is made exclusively From Hokkaido-grown rice and soybeans, which are elaborately brewed using subsoil water from the Taisetsu mountains. This additive-free white miso paste tastes moderately sweet and refreshing characterized by rice malt.

Hidaka kelp broth: Irodori

This item is made exclusively from Hokkaido Hidaka kelp. The natural flavor and taste are extracted from the kelp by our original caldron boiling method into a condensed liquid broth featuring a fragrant aroma and mild flavor. This broth can be used for a wide variety of dishes.

Koji Powder

Rice koji made from 100% Hokkaido rice is processed into soft and finely prepared powder.You can easily take this koji daily and be strengthened by the inherent power of healthy koji.When used to prepare meat and fish, it enhances the umami flavor while making these ingredients tender and juicy.It is also recommended to mix the koji with milk, soy milk, or yogurt.

Hokkaido Amazake

This sweet fermented rice drink is made only of water, rice and rice malt, all of which are blessed by abundant nature of Hokkaido. Enjoy the rich taste, natural sweetness and flavor of rice malt of this drink. As it is a non-alcoholic drink, everybody, including little children, pregnant women and nursing women, can enjoy. You can enjoy this beverage straight, but we also recommend mixing it with milk, soymilk, yogurt or carbonic acid if you like. This product can also be used as a substitute for sugar to add sweetness to dishes.

Hokkaido specialty Pudding

This pudding is made with fresh Hokkaido milk and specially selected ingredients. Aiming to fully extract the natural flavor of each raw material, we did not add any preservatives or condiments to the product. Packed in individual small boxes that can be kept at room temperature, it is also gaining popularity as a souvenir or gift. This sweet is low in energy with only 100 kilocalories each, and is therefore recommended to health-conscious consumers.

Hokkaido smooth Yokan

Yokan (a bar of sweetened bean paste) with a new flavor is made using flavorful black beans from the Tokachi region and soybeans from Naganuma Town. Unlike traditional yokan, this product does not include azuki red beans. This sensuous Japanese sweet allows you to enjoy the taste of the beans themselves. No additives such as preservatives, colors or fragrance are used, so little children can safely enjoy this yokan. It can be stored at room temperature, making it appropriate as a souvenir or gift.
